P. M. TOWER
Bucharest | 2011 | 1200 sqm
The project encompasses the facade and interior renovation of a building constructed prior to 2010. Covering approximately 1,200 square meters, the structure features a basement and seven above-ground floors. The basement and the top floor are allocated for residential apartments, while the intermediate floors are designed as open-plan office spaces.
The facade was revitalized using ceramic cladding in a ventilated facade system, introducing a dynamic interplay of volumes that disrupts the building’s previous monotony.
Redesigning the common hallway, which includes the staircase and elevator, posed a significant challenge due to its limited dimensions and the ambition to create a distinctive, exclusive, and personalized environment. The installation of a glass balustrade with parallelogram-shaped panels, coupled with a transparent elevator, enhances the spatial perception while maintaining an elegant aesthetic.
The artistic intervention by Carolina Constantin has infused the space with a unique character. Her mural, depicting the passage of time in a distinctive style, unfolds as a continuous narrative from the lower to the upper sections of the building, symbolizing the journey from childhood through maturity to old age. The outcome is a remarkable design that draws attention through its elegance and conceptual depth.
